Classical Ballet
Classical ballet focuses the traditional, formal styles of ballet that exclusively employ classical ballet technique. It is known for its aesthetics and rigorous technique (such as pointe work, turnout of the legs, and high extensions), its flowing, precise movements, and its ethereal qualities.
Pointe
An extension of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.
Baby Ballet & Tap
Our dance classes for toddlers up to 5 years allow children to explore the movement of their bodies, exploring their developmental growth and creativity.
Musical Theatre
A theatrical dance style that includes dance technique and acting to songs from and musicals. These dance numbers usually consist of a story being told or a character being formed. This class explores Broadway-style dance.
Tap
Tap is a traditional style of dance using the shoes with metal plates on the bottom striking the floor, creating rhythmic choreography. Tap focuses a lot on musicality and percussion.
Lyrical
A style that's a fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques and is a "cousin" to those styles. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.
Contemporary
Contemporary is an extremely artistic style of dance. It is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, and usually contains an emotional journey, or story. There is a lot of creative freedom when it comes to contemporary dance.
Modern
Based mostly on creative movement, the style of modern dance developed in rebellious response to the structured rigors of classical ballet. This fun style is challenging yet expressive and is a cousin of lyrical and contemporary dance.
Jazz
Jazz is a technique based style with a strong ballet background. This class consists of structure and discipline along with fun and sass.
